Today I love the sounds of laundry machines as they rumble reassuringly in the next room, singing cheerfully mumbled songs about clean clothes and pride of accomplishments. I love that I am feeling so much better and that I have a hankering to cook and clean and yet take it easy enough on myself that I continue to recuperate.

Today I love sweater weather, or as the people of Great Britain might say, “jumper weather.” I love that today I remembered an old sweater my mom had given me that I wore for three decades and finally had to throw out because it had completely unraveled.

Today I Love Cloth Hankies

Today I love cloth hankies and how they remind me of my youth. I love that I’ve never quit carrying them with me, and that when I have a head cold they are much less abrasive on my poor sore nose than paper tissues are.

Today I Love My Ringing Head

Today I love my ringing head that reminds me I am still alive. I love my sinuses and lungs because they have valiantly fought through whatever this thing is and are now clearing themselves of the rubble and waste of the battles they have fought and the ongoing skirmishes they engage in as they clean out pockets of debris and enemy germs.

Today I love racing clouds tearing their way northward in the eastern sky. I love that we have done so many last minute, fair weather things in the last month and I love that if the weather turns completely right now I’d be okay with that because the last two months have been lived without regrets.
