Today I Love My Bee Saving Office

A good place for an office …

Today I love my bee saving office where I get to work barefoot while the milkweed and all the other flowers provide a feast for the butterflies and bees to dine on. I love that I often get to write in places like this. I love the smell of cut grass on the air, reminding me that it is second cut season for the hay. I love that I’ve seen some second cut in the fields that looked of better quality than some of the first cut that often got wet and musty and rusty before it could be bailed this year. I love how every breath of air outdoors reminds me of summers gone and summers yet to come. I love how sweet the summer days can be. I love that even the supposedly less sweet ones are gifts. I love that I will never disrespect a day given to me to live in. I love that I know my job is to make the best of every day I have. I love that I know complaining about a day is far from making anything good of it. I love that there is no such thing as a good day to grumble.

Today I love that last night at Saugeen, my friends Dylan and Lauren put on as good a show as I’ve ever seen them perform and I got to see it. I still love that every song they play seems like my favorite when they’re playing it. I don’t know how that works, but I’m just that pleased to have so many favorite songs. I love that today we’re going to try paper folding art with our friend May Ip and I’m kind of looking forward to learning how to make more than just a crane, though I love folding cranes. I love that tonight we will get to see another amazing group when we go to the “My Sweet Patootie” show at “Harbour Nights.”

Today I love strawberries for breakfast. I love wandering through the garden with my early morning coffee. I love kissing on the front porch. I love this quiet day of peace here in my part of our global village, even though I know there is strife and pain in other places. I love that I intend to live my life with adventure, to be an example, to the best of my ability, of acceptance and tolerance.

Today I love coffee sipping in my Sunday morning, sunny morning, flower blooming, barefooted, bee saving office.

Kelly Babcock

I was born in the city of Toronto in 1959, but moved when I was in my fourth year of life. I was raised and educated in a rural setting, growing up in a manner I like to refer to as free range. I live in an area where my family history stretches back 6 or more generations. I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 50 and have been both struggling with the new reality and using my discoveries to make my life better. I write two blogs here at Psych Central, one about having ADHD and one that is a daily positive affirmation that acts as an example of finding the good in as much of my life as I possibly can.
