Today I love people who choose to find common ground. I love people who seek the ways to connect their communities. I love people who actively seek out the good in others rather than imagining just enough bad to make a negative decision. I love people like my friend May Ip who looks to learn and teach as much culture from as many places as she can. I love people who open their minds and hearts to who you are on the inside regardless of your DNA or your age or your abilities in areas of their interest. I love people who are fascinated with what others are able to do even if doing those things themselves holds no interest for them. I love people who can make things, who have the endurance of focus and concentration to knit or crochet or fold paper or make models or continue to paint artistically after the first wrong stroke of the brush. I love people who do the things they do with the idea of joining and strengthening their community in their minds all the time.
Today I love that yesterday I got to be the Master of Ceremonies for the Sweetgrass and Thistle Concert Series show again and that was a lot of fun. I love that there are still three shows left in that series, that one is the Kincardine Fiddle Orchestra and that will be great, one of them is my friends, Dylan & Lauren performing as Our Shotgun Wedding and that will be really great, and the last one is Crystal Shawanda and that will be quite spectacular. I love being a part of such a good project that is making an effort to strengthen the connections between what some see as two distinct communities because they are just two parts of this community we call humanity.
Today I love spattering raindrops. I love that this is a busy day of packing and readying for the road. I love that we have way too many strawberries to deal with, nom nom nom. I love that the car is working well and seems ready for the road. I love my new glasses a lot, what a sight to see. I love how great the garden and back yard look. I love how green everything is this year. I love how wild and plentiful the avian life in the backyard is, so many birds, so many kinds.
Today I love sipping coffee and contemplating the embarrassment of riches of having too many strawberries.
