Today I love Quiet Times

dawn sky
Spectacular dawn

Today I love quiet times with easy talk and happy feelings. I love knowing where I am and where I’m going. I love knowing in advance that things will happen and yet I love surprises too, convenient, eh? I love that I’m considering trying yet another type of paddling in the near future. I love that I am determined to get my old canoe ready for the water soon. I love that I am so busy that I have no idea when soon is. I love that the busy I am is busy with things coming up, and not busy with doing the repetitive things of daily living, though I have them to do as well. I love that my home seems to be in agreement about how housework should be done and it’s pretty close to the way I’m doing it. 😉 I love that I’m feeling exhausted, because it reminds me that I’ve been working hard at so many things and I love those things a lot. I love that the dragon boat went in and is bobbing and darting at its lines in the harbor. I love that my feet finally thawed out about an hour after I went wading to guide the boat into the bay. I love that it is such a worthy and honorable craft with spirit and passion. Boats’ souls are worthy of love.

Today I love that tomorrow is the beginning of my next adventure, changing my point of view, provincially, and experiencing air travel for the first time in quite a few years. I still love that I got my passport, even though I won’t need it for this trip. I love that I am planning to go see friends I’ve never met in real life, in another country some day soon. I love that this world is so small and yet so well understood these days. I love that I can find out about places I might go by just looking on line and it happens in seconds.

Today I love wondrous sunrises with amazing light. I love that the lawn looks so nice and the flower beds are bursting with new growth. I love the hammock, even though I feel guilty every time I get into it. I love that there will be miles of spontaneous adventure roads to explore on the motorcycle this season, as soon as we get done exploring miles of road and sky for scheduled adventures. I love adventures.

Today I love sipping coffee during quiet moments under the amazing light of a wondrous sunrise.

Today I love Quiet Times

Kelly Babcock

I was born in the city of Toronto in 1959, but moved when I was in my fourth year of life. I was raised and educated in a rural setting, growing up in a manner I like to refer to as free range. I live in an area where my family history stretches back 6 or more generations. I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 50 and have been both struggling with the new reality and using my discoveries to make my life better. I write two blogs here at Psych Central, one about having ADHD and one that is a daily positive affirmation that acts as an example of finding the good in as much of my life as I possibly can.
