Today I love sleeping late on purpose and waking up slowly to sunlight and promises of mild weather and maybe some adventure. I love piano music playing spontaneously while breakfast is cooking. I love the sunlight shining in on the breakfast table like it used to do back home in Kemble where I grew up. I love the glorious mid morning sky of clouds and con-trails and sun. I love the taste of marmalade on toast. I love eating different things on my toast everyday, marmalade, strawberry jam, honey, or anything else that is sweet and flavourful. I love breakfast eaten at a leisurely pace on a holiday Monday. I love that we celebrate Family Day here and that it is as simple as just spending time with those you love, your relatives or the person you’ve chosen to call your family, or that person and the people the two of you have created or acquired to care for. I love that this year family day has had a mild weather weekend to precede it. I love that Family Day is falling on yet another wonderfully mild and soft day of sun and pleasant weather. I love my family, and though I will not see them, each of us has found family that we can spend the day with and we all count on all those found people to be family to our family members.
Today I love that there is talk of swimming again and maybe walking on the track after that, and I will do what I can to keep up in the pool, though I’m sure that will not happen, and then I will do my usual seven kilometers an hour walk speed on the track if my legs will hold me and we’ll see who can keep up with me then. I love that i am being a lot better to myself than I was and that even though my lungs are still having problems, I’m sure they are much better than they would have been if I wasn’t trying to maintain my health and strength.
Today I love that most blue food is actually purple. I love half-pint sized kids who skate fearlessly. I love that my feet ache in an old familiar way when I skate. I love choir and our practice last night. I love shooting pool and bowling which I did last night after choir practice. I love that my band-mate, Rebecca, is celebrating her birthday and karaoke at the bowling alley happened because of that and I love that I did not do karaoke, just because.
Today I love coffee with breakfast while looking at the amazing mid morning sky.
