Today I Love The Cool Sweet Air

Big fluffy clouds aloftToday I love the cool sweet air that seems to be moving gently across the front verandah as I sit and watch a Saturday morning ease by. I love that the sun is shining but that there are huge puffy clouds rolling by aloft above me. I suspect the sun will soon be playing hide and seek with us but for now it is warming my feet and that’s just fine with me too.

Today I love that it is once again Owen Sound Farmers’ Market day and that means eggs and veggies being restocked in my pantry and it means breakfast with random friends. Who’s going to be there today? Who knows, but they’ll be good company. They always are.

Today I love that I have worked hard all week, but that the work and the week aren’t over yet. Today I get to go for a little road trip across the peninsula to help move some furniture. I’ll take my camera with me ’cause last time I made this trip I saw a coyote and, though he did not stick around long enough for me to take his picture, it just shows you that you never know what amazing things you might get the opportunity to photograph. Life is like that, amazing could be right around the corner and you have to be ready for it. I love that.

Today I love coffee. It helps me control my eyes first thing in the morning which is important, because when I first wake up, it feels like a huge effort sometimes to make them both look at the same thing at the same time. That’s before the coffee you know. I think maybe I need another cup now. To get me ready to go to the market and then to work with my camera.

Kelly Babcock

I was born in the city of Toronto in 1959, but moved when I was in my fourth year of life. I was raised and educated in a rural setting, growing up in a manner I like to refer to as free range. I live on the traditional lands of the Chippewas of Nawash in an area where my family history stretches back 6 or 7 generations and my First Nations friend's families go back hundreds of generations. I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 50 and have been both struggling with the new reality and using my discoveries to make my life better. I am a freelance writer and I write two blogs here at Psych Central, one about living with ADHD and one that is a daily positive affirmation that acts as an example of finding the good in as much of my life as I possibly can.
