Today I Love The Comedy Of Nature

Pure morning gold ...Today I love the comedy of nature. I love how when the geese go by in training flights, so low overhead that it feels like I could reach up and tickle them, the squirrel in the spruce tree beside the deck gets frantically upset and starts scolding them and scolds them long after they’re gone. And even more hilarious is how not a goose could ever hear that poor squirrel with all the honking and squawking of instructions they are hollering back and forth. The squirrel is like an old man yelling “Hey you kids, get off my lawn!!!”

Today I love the sweet warm September summer air. I love the glowing golden Eastern sky with the sun painting con trails and mares tail clouds with highlights and accents that makes them look like they belong in a treasure chest. I love the richness of the way the world looks and how that wealth belongs to anyone who is willing to look at it and gather it in to their life. But like all wealth, it’s worth even more if you can figure out how to share it.

Today I love that it is another busy day for me and for the world. I love that I’m feeling challenged by a new floor I’m putting down over the next day or two. I love that in this world, that challenge doesn’t amount to much of anything in the face of the challenges humanity faces in troubled places, so I get to laugh at myself when I worry about things like that, and I love to laugh so … win. I love that when the floor is done I’ll be thinking “What was I worried about?”

Today I love coffee. it’s three times more likely and has 25% more than anything else available today. It will never stop you from getting a mortgage or an education and it is an integral part of every cup of coffee. More than 90% of people have heard of coffee and they all agree that it exists. It is nearly always served with or without cream and sugar. If you don’t believe me than all I can say is that you probably haven’t had enough coffee yet today. These are the facts, and I love facts, almost as much as I love coffee.

Kelly Babcock

I was born in the city of Toronto in 1959, but moved when I was in my fourth year of life. I was raised and educated in a rural setting, growing up in a manner I like to refer to as free range. I live in an area where my family history stretches back 6 or more generations. I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 50 and have been both struggling with the new reality and using my discoveries to make my life better. I write two blogs here at Psych Central, one about having ADHD and one that is a daily positive affirmation that acts as an example of finding the good in as much of my life as I possibly can.
