Today I love the call of ravens across the wet landscape of another warm wet autumn day. Days like today will be fewer and farther between soon enough, but other days will take their place, days with their own worthy qualities. I love that although the cloud cover is very heavy, there is a brilliant line across the sky just above the eastern horizon that is telling us where the sun is hiding … hide and seek, but the clouds are tattling on the sun.
Today I love that there will be work done here at home since my other jobs are outdoor jobs and though I don’t mind working in the rain if I have to, these are painting jobs that will not turn out well is mixed with precipitation. I love that nature gets the last say on many things still, that weather can easily remind us that all our decisions of what is and what isn’t important are usually, when looked at in a larger context, often worth a good laugh. We make big important plans and then we are told that the word “important” is actually better used to describe the time spent watching the rain. I love that.
Today I love that I am still pumped about writing and will be doing some more of that after I finish up clearing out my office and reestablishing my domain there. I love that the characters of my book still have the same quirkiness they had when I left them in a safe place several months ago, and I love that I have learned never to stop writing for even a day … when your characters are safe. It’s too tempting to take a break.
Today I love coffee. I love how it warms up my mind, kind of like the choke on an old lawn mower, and is needed to help adjust the flow all through the day. I love how it helps me remember things, things like that I tell you I love coffee every day, but also things like that I write today I love every day. I’m going to have another cup now and see what else I remember … I bet it’ll be something good. I love that.
