There is certainly no instruction booklet on how to foster meaningful relationships. The way we first learn is through modeling our parent’s behavior, by process of elimination, and through on the job training when we’re thrust into our social worlds in school and other places we socialize.

    I am a missionary with about 32 years of experience in some 30+ countries. For years I have struggled trying to manage relationships but it all failed time after time. These 10 pounts showed me some hidden spots where I had no ability to improve. Thank you, I will keep them as valuable tools from now on

    Thank you! This article is well written, organized and clear.
    I am currently transforming from a narrow, fear-based, negative life approach to the an open, confident, positive one.
    The points laid out in this article provide a map and a navigation strategy that supports my transformation from a history of abusive relationships, unfulfilling career choices and patterns of giving myself away thereby being taken advantage of.
