Join The Psychiatric Medication Debate

Pills.Do psychiatric medications do more harm than good or is the answer more complex than a simple yes or no?

Peter Gøtzsche, professor and director of the Nordic Cochrane Centre in Denmark, is making waves with his British Medical Journal statement that each year, over 500,000 people aged 65 die from psychiatric drugs.

“Given their lack of benefit, I estimate we could stop almost all psychotropic drugs without causing harm – by dropping all antidepressants, ADHD drugs and dementia drugs … and using only a fraction of the antipsychotics and benzodiazepines we currently use,” he said.

What do you think?
