    And how many years and years of therapy did I go through b4 I even had a name or label for what I had? You would think these wonders would throw out a hint of what it was. Not once. Then again I spent too many of those years doing something called Bioenergetics but only b/c talk therapy was such a joke/ con. I finally saw a guy who was a psychologist/ Zen practitioner who just very plainly said, “hey, you’ve got anxiety.”

    I did see a psychiatrist who charged $300 an hour. He didn’t charge me and also didn’t automatically whip out his prescription pad as in, ‘let’s see, we’ll start you off with low dose___bla bla bla and see how you do.’ He at least had something going for him.

    This is great. I realized that I was spending a lot of time lurking on the Instagram accounts of people who pathologize their anxiety, and it was really freaking me out. There was so much discussion of how horrible anxiety is, how it’s a biochemical curse, how there’s no cure for it but there should be, etc etc etc. It was making me feel like my anxiety was the equivalent of terminal cancer. So I deleted Instagram on my phone, and concentrated on the fact that I am 100% capable of living life no matter how jittery I feel. I am starting to do better now!
