    Always turn those presumptions around. Anyone telling me re. marriage that “it’ll be your turn one day” will get the answer “cheer up, you might get divorced one day”.

    Same principle applies to kids. “Aw, your turn to become a father/mother will come one day” is countered with “cheer up, you might have an abortion one day”. It’s a rude, invasive statement that deserves the boot on the other foot. If they complain that it’s rude, then they’ve revealed two things.

    One is a double standard, and the other is their lack of self-awareness.
