“. So I will acknowledge that there are many people who struggle with being single. But it is wrong to imply that all single people are miserable and lonely and need help in figuring out how to tolerate their single lives.”

even in my 20s when I was still dating and thought I might have a partner one day (and felt that frustration from time to time) I wouldn’t have needed anyone to tell me “how to be happy” – that I “should learn to spend time with my friends or alone” and also I wasn’t fighting back tears all the time.
So even if you’re not single at heart – you don’t need this advice. Actually I dare to say: You just need it if you – very unhealthingly (is that a word?) – never took enough time to care for yourself.

Let’s see how many don’t get the missive. When a person says they’ve been single so they understand the single-at-heart, then they’ve missed the point, that point being we don’t want a partner for whatever reason that may be.

Not everyone is happy being single, she seems to keep saying in her articles that if you’re single you should be satisfied. If someone wants to find a partner in life more power to them, just like more power to them if they choose to stay single. I’m really tired of being alone in my life, and I want to settle down with someone! I shouldn’t be told by anyone to be happy just being by myself.

Life is way harder with just one income these days and having to do everything on your own, cook, clean, laundry. I’m tired of eating and sleeping alone too, that gets old. It’s depressing to come home to an empty place night in and night out. Ok, I don’t mean to go on and on but seriously I feel like single people are discriminated. An example, why doesn’t everything involve another person? Coupons for example, buy one get one free, buy one get the second half off? get my point? Plus family size stuff that says right on the box of cereal why can’t it just be for one person.
