Having just completely untangled myself from a long term marriage and life as a ‘wife’, and having embraced my single status the past year, I’m learning so much and am so grateful for Bella’s research and other who are trying to live independent of societal expectations .. for lack of a better description. Of course I never knew or paid attention to any of this while I was married. But now, it’s making so much sense and opening so many different avenues for me.

What I’ve finding difficult, though, is ‘how’ I am pushing back regarding the comments about dating and finding a new man and all the other perceptions that there’s something wrong with me if I don’t couple up with someone in a committed relationship. And fast. What are some ways that others push back? I’d like to know because right now I just feel defensive and I don’t want that to be my stance.
