    Recently I read that in unfocused meditation it is precisely the exercise of bringing the wandering mind back to awareness over and over again that increasing the brain’s elasticity, etc. — and contributes to this method of meditation’s power — is this correct?

      Wow, drmarille, that’s an absolutely fascinating question! I wish I knew the answer. Actually, I wish *anyone* knew the answer! My best guess based on current research is that the process of bringing your mind back into focus would increase your ability to bring your mind back into focus — nearly any brain skill trains itself. But then does this skill generalize to overall plasticity? If you find the answer, I would LOVE to know. Cheers.
