    Thank you so very, very much for enlightening people to this issue.
    I’m old and have already gone though this decades ago but what a nightmare.

    In my case my wife suffered from postpartum depression and she being from an extremely conservative family that vilifies depression, they did their best to sweep it under the rug. My wife suffered terribly. I suffered in silence.

    So my message is please pursue this and hopefully there will be more help in the future for new fathers as there is very little these days (it’s getting better). Worse if you look for it, you are perceived as a weak male or a failure. Some of the responses I received while looking for help was “suck it up”, “here are some SSRIs, goodbye”.

    The worst thing about depression is that if untreated, it will change a person forever. My beautiful wife was never the same after her depression and I suppose neither am I.
    I will take a physical injury over depression anytime.
