    Thanks for sharing your personal insights and poetic appreciation of this most recent illuminating study.

    My hopeful conclusion: that women short and tall, large and small, far and wide, will invite their outer observer to be kinder and gentler, individually and collectively.

    It makes me sad, Jean, how much energy my friends put into critiquing their bodies, monitoring everything they eat (with the attendant guilt), and worrying about their workout. Oh, I do it in my head (compassion is still something I’m striving for), but I have stopped voicing those thoughts. One step at a time.

    Thank you for a great article. You have hit the nail right on the head with your insight and the inner dialogue we go through. Not just women, men also. It makes me really sad that we are “trained” to look more to the outside than the inside.
