One thought on “Are Our Emotions Cranked To 11?

As an introvert and a HSP, my perspective is probably different. I made decisions about coping with this in my life that have worked for me. I chose not to indulge in the frenzy, for the most part. I’m just not thick skinned enough not to be rattled by it.
I quit FaceBook. I couldn’t bring myself to ‘unfriend’ people and hurt their feelings and at the same time I really didn’t want to know everything that was going through their angry, ‘volume 11’ heads.(Or, to be honest, every boring detail in their lives)
I switched my Twitter account to Protected and now limit myself to following around 30 folk who I respect for their honesty, intelligence, humour and mostly positive outlook.
I no longer watch the news on TV. I read about it on-line and only from sources that are factual, not hysterical.
For me, it’s about choices. Do I eat that big candy bar or pick up a piece of fruit? Do I read a series of inflammatory rants and the responding trolls, or do I indulge in a thought provoking article that is balanced and insightful?
    Choices are a wonderful thing.
