Beauty Lives .. It’s Our Nature to Choose Thoughts of Love and Healing

1 beauty autumnToday the hearts of many in our country, and around the world, are heavy in response to the election results.

There are feelings of grief and loss, anger and betrayal, among others, are only natural. These feelings after all reflect the extent and depth to which many on the left care about continued progress, in terms of granting every citizen — and not just a select few — the right and freedom to enjoy a living wage, clean air, water and food, and most of all to live free of fear to pursue happiness and prosperity for themselves, their families and communities.

While these feelings make sense, it’s vital to keep things in perspective, reminding yourself of the power of your thoughts, that in effect:

Your thoughts create your world.

While feeling upset in response to a perceived setback is natural, it’s also essential to stay energized and positive, remembering that:

Hate and bigotry can never win. 

It’s a biological reality. We’re wired to be at our best creating life enriching, peaceful communities. Those who promote hatred and bigotry risk falling into their own traps, being consumed by their own feelings. And intense emotions of hatred and rage pose dangers to the health and wellbeing of the human brain and body. In response, the body releases toxic stress hormones; and, additionally, the “mirror neuron” feature of the brain makes it impossible to hate another person or group, without producing toxic feelings of self-loathing, self-hatred, etc., in ourselves.

Safe to say, hatred and bigotry can never win. They eventually implode on those who choose to stay harboring them.

Love and beauty are the only true powers.

Love is beauty, and beauty is truth, and the truth is, love is all there is. Love, beauty, truth are all interchangeable. I like to call this type of Truth with a capital “T.”

The beauty of love is made manifest from actions that produce amazing life-sustaining “fruit,” such as joy, connection, equality, creativity, and so on. In contrast, the power to limit others by instilling fear and helplessness, and other forms of “hoarding power,” is the weakest of all powers. What is more powerful than the power to sew seeds that keep the Cycle of Life going?

In the words of John Keats,

“Beauty is truth, truth is beauty … that is all ye know on Earth, and all ye need to know.”

Given this, and the fact that hatred works against the goals of creating a more just society and world, one that serves all its citizens, each of us i9s responsible for guarding our hearts against getting stuck in thoughts that produce emotions of anger, hatred or rage.

Staying out of despair, you may say, is a critical life task! If this idea is new to you, it’s easier than you think, and gets easier with practice. Once you get started, the feel good feelings are self-reinforcing.

Your thoughts have miracle-making power!

Think about your life … and especially in terms of your thoughts. Will you choose to live your life to bring and create happiness, or to live a pity party life? Will you make life a blame game or take responsibility?

When you observe senseless words or actions, remind yourself and your loved ones, that each of us is only responsible for our own karma.

What will you choose?

You always have the option, at any moment, to decide to stop blaming people, and instead to take responsibility for everything that happens in your life … primarily, through the thoughts you think.

It’s your life. Refuse to make the karma (problems) of an ignorant person yours.

Observe your thoughts. As the day progress, when things happen, do you stay positive or dive into rabbit holes?

You create the beauty and truth in and around you. It’s up to you to tap into and bring out the best love to yourself and your life by the thoughts you think.

Take charge of your amazing miracle-making power to shift to optimal thoughts and feelings. Choose to feel love and gratitude for all you have, all you are, all your loved ones, all that is around you … life is grand.

Take nothing for granted.

Let actions that seem “senseless” remind you to not take anything for granted. Not one moment. Not one day.

Choose to enjoy your life by redirecting your thoughts, one moment at a time, away from hatred and fear, and instead to thoughts that are aligned with your highest vision for your self and life, and world that is really and truly ready to realize the ever present possibility for all human beings, of all faiths, all colors, to live together, as sisters and brothers, promoting one another’s highest good.

Together we have to make sure of that. It starts by believing in the vision of an ever brighter future, and never giving up on this as a real possibility.

Don’t wait until things are perfect! You’ll never be perfect. Neither will others or the world. The real test is can you love you even though you’re not perfect? Can you extend this to others as well?

To succeed, the only option is to remain strong, live courageously, love wholeheartedly, and keep believing in America, and even those who share different views and find themselves in different places in their life.

In the words of Jame Corden’s sonnet in this year’s Tony Awards,

“Love is love is love is love is love is love it cannot be killed or swept aside … now fill the world with music, love and pride.”

Make your life about love. It’s totally up to you.

Live in awe and amazement. Love your life, and look and promote good in your life, and the world around you.
