Outlander’s Jamie Fraser

In the beautiful books by Diana Gabaldon, Jamie Fraser is an example of a man balanced in his strength and tenderness. In addition to the book series, Jamie is made even more famous in this fantasy tale popularized in the Netflix T.V.

I appreciate your synopsis of the series that is so rabidly followed! Myself, I own all the books and am currently listening to book 6 of 8 for the third time around, plus own all the seasons on DVD. I feel I must correct a few things: Jamie’s name is Fraser, not Fraizer. His sister’s given name is indeed Janet but very rarely mentioned that way, she goes by Jenny. Jamie’s uncle is Dougle, not Doogle. And the series is offered by Starz, not Netflix. Gabledon tells a wonderful story with massive amounts of historical research. I highly recommend listening to the story on audible.

Thank you for the beautifully written and explained entry regarding Outlander and our love for the books (and tv series). I love and relate thoroughly to the main characters, and often reflect on the author’s (Diana Gabaldon) ability to write a character with the depth and appeal of Jamie F.
I thoroughly appreciate the time and wisdom that you’ve brought to this subject.
