Three Easy Rules on How to Find a Mate

Last week’s cartoon asked the question: Would you do this or that if you won the Powerball Lottery? It’s kind of fun to think about.

For any cartoon you enjoy, you’re invited to share it anyplace except Pinterest. (Pinterest grabs the whole image, which is not cool. Facebook just uses thumbnails, which IS cool.) And thank you for sharing every week on Facebook and Twitter.

426pt thToday’s cartoon is about being ready. Two of my favorite expressions are: Act as if, and Be ready for. Maybe because they are challenges!

I was listening to KFI’s new relationship talk show host, Dr. Wendy Walsh, a couple of weeks ago, and she said there are 3 dating mistakes people make when they are seriously looking for the One.

  1. Only looking online for a mate, and ignoring all the opportunities in real life. (If you’re very introverted, stretching yourself to be more friendly in the real world is a challenge, to be sure. But we really like those who enjoy similar activities, or hang out at the same places.)
  2. Another mistake: Only looking in real life, and not trying the online sites! 🙂 (She speaks highly of OK Cupid, but Match.com and Tinder are probably better known.)
  3. Here’s where it gets weird: I forget the 3rd rule. What if it’s the most important one? What if that’s my worst mistake ever? I looked up her podcasts, but couldn’t find it. What do you think it might be?

So all I have to work with here are numbers 1 and 2. I like the idea of meeting online, and have read many success stories, but first I have to get some great photos.

Not sure if I’m ready for that… but at least I have #1 to try. Unfortunately, that means I have to be friendly to people, I guess. SIGH.

Next: the first cartoon of Love Month!
