This week’s cartoon is about meeting and dating online. What fun!
Dr. Christie Hartman, author of Find the Love of Your Life Online, wrote an interesting article with advice on how to make the first move in online dating. I like her ideas on why it’s okay to email a man before he does:
By merely sending a guy a friendly email, you buck the system and stand out, putting you front and center on his radar. While other women are waiting to be emailed, you’re chatting it up with interesting men.
A friend of mine picked out 2 or 3 men she found attractive on match.com, and on one of their trial offers of 3 days free, she emailed one of them – without even her picture up!- and suggested they meet immediately. They met, fell in love, and have been living together for 3 years. Now that’s a success story for online romance!
I’m sure many have found out how intense romance and sexual attractions can feel through email, which is very startling when it happens to you. But it’s not always as immediate, or successful, as it was for my friend, and my cartoon is about those little disappointments. My suggestion? Keep emailing!
The statistics are in, and love definitely does bloom in your mailbox. I would love to hear more success stories to add to the one above!
