Borderline personality disorder
Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is characterised by abnormal emotional behaviour, and by unstable emotional relationships with other people.
The individual suffers from a disturbance that is felt around issues of abandonment,
Dissociative states of mind can be brought on by:
- too much stress
- by living through traumatic events (PTSD)
- repeated traumatic events (CPTSD)
Dissociation refers to a sense of feeling cut off from yourself or from the people around you.
Living with Complex PTSD symptoms
Sometimes people are referred for psychotherapy to treat symptoms they describe as relating to anxiety or obsessional issues.
Often it transpires that there is an underlying condition of complex PTSD that has not been diagnosed.
