In my previous article I discussed some information on Schizophrenia, in this article I will expand upon this topic.  I will include subtypes of Schizophrenia.  According to bbrfoundation.org, the subtypes of schizophrenia include Paranoid Schizophrenia, Disorganized Schizophrenia, Catatonic Shizophrenia, Residual Shizophrenia, in addition to Schizoaffective Disorder.

What Is Paranoid Schizophrenia?

According to bbrfoundation.org, the first subtype of Schizophrenic diagnoses is Paranoid Schizophrenia.  What is paranoia?  According to mentalhealthamerica.net, the signs of paranoia include:

  • include intense and irrational mistrust or suspicion, leading to a sense of fear, anger, and betrayal
  • mistrust
  • hypervigilence
  • difficulty with forgiveness
  • defensive attitude in response to imagined criticism
  • preoccupation with hidden motives
  • fear of being deceived or taken advantage of
  • inability to relax
  • being argumentative

If these are the signs of paranoia, then what are the signs of Paranoid Schizophrenia?  According to bbrfoundation.org, Paranoid Schizophrenia is feelings of extreme suspicion, persecution or grandiosity, or a combination of both.

What Is Disorganized Schizophrenia?

What is Disorganized Schizophrenia?  According to bbrfoundation.org, Disorganized Schizoprhenia is incoherent thoughts.  However, even though these thoughts are incoherent, they are not delusional.

What Is Catatonic Schizophrenia?

What is Catatotonic Schizoprhenia?  According to bbrfoundation.org, Catatonic Schizophrenia is withdrawal.  In addition to withdrawal, it is also negative affect and isolation.  In addition it is also marked psychomotor disturbances.

What Is Residual Schizophrenia?

What is Residual Schiozphrenia?  According to bbrfoundation.org, Residual Schizophrenia is a lack of interest in motivation or life.  However, delusions or hallucinations may go away.

What Is Schizoaffective Disorder?

What is Schizoaffective Disorder?  According to bbrfoundation.org, Schizoaffective Disorder is symptoms of schizophrenia and a mood disorder.  Mood disorders may include Bipolar Disorder or Depression.
