    It’s interesting that it seems to be easier to forgive people who are closer to you and seen to be more trustworthy. It is when I think of those that hurt me as distant and deliberately malicious that I have a harder time forgiving them and releasing myself from the negativity that that generates.

    Even if my worst fears are true; that I have been hurt by people who have taken pleasure in my pain, that they will go unpunished for what they have done, and will be free to continue on hurting others, to not practice forgiveness only hurts me. Perhaps the most selfish (as in self centered) thing I can do in this instance is to forgive them. How bizarre.
