Do You Have a Growth Mindset?

I was speaking with a close friend recently who was having difficulty accepting where she was in her career. She didn’t feel things were coming together as quickly as she would’ve liked and started to second guess if she was following the right path.

I started college at age 60, so I guess I am into a “growth mindset.’

The author makes the faulty assumption a “growth mindset” is superior, and that growth is always possible, inevitable and desirable.

This assumption is faulty. Sometimes, growth is not possible, and it may not even be desirable.

Many cultures believe conservatism and humility are superior values. To treat the alternative value of proactivity as superior is biased, and unscientific.
