    I think a lot of the resistance to the word “accept” would vanish is we just said “acknowledge.” Recognize the fact of something. “Accept” to me does feel like a limp defeat as well. Accepting something means welcoming it into yourself. Acknowledging means that you see it and know it’s there, even if you don’t like it.

    “Accept” is a really poor word choice for this sort of thing, and professionals need to drop it now.

    Look at this as the glass half full, we can also consider acceptance as power or bravery/courage. When you truly accept something difficult, you gain power from that experience and that results in bravery and courage.
