I’m that person who has been easily manipulated by my wife and it was with the help of a great therapist that I finally came to understand, at 65 years old, why our marriage has been quite difficult. Not leaving because I’ve been disabled and cannot work but I’m wise to her behaviors and no longer accept or tolerate them.

I’m really happy I read your blog today because that is exactly what I had been going through during the past two years with someone who would not leave even when I was clear why we could not continue together. I used to think it was because he was actually interested and did not know how to express himself, but with time, I realized he was manipulating me and I was hurt many times. To my disadvantage, I’m the type of woman who forgives and forgets easily and the next time he would get in touch, I would be happy and ready to be slapped on the face again (using figurative language only). I finally decided to quit communication, not seeing him again and not respond to his e-mails but still thinking that I would do it later in the future, if he came back with another message. But after reading what I actually needed to know to understand what was going on within myself, I’m definitely not answering anymore. I’m quitting this without a closure, because now I know, there will be no closure at all and I’m strong enough to face this truth. Thanks a million for sharing your knowledge with us, who otherwise, would not be able to find proper help. The very best during this peace and love season!
