“Rephrase your orders. Sometimes we bark orders at ourselves that would cause even the most cooperative flinch. Stop. When you want to do something, tell yourself that you get to do it. And be nice. “Oh, I get to exercise now if I want.”

This was where the shoe pinched. I’ve been mad for days at myself now, simply for having set up an easy schedule of must-dos, for my own good. Couldn’t figure out why or why the anger seemed to be steadily increasing per day and why I started procrastinating more and more, and even considering stopping altogether, until I read this. Of course. I’m bashing myself, somewhere in the subconscious, and now you’ve made me aware, and my mind’s more at ease.

We gotta be nice to ourselves! Treat ourselves the way we’d treat someone else we’d want to motivate. Alright, alright. I’ll go exercise and try to keep the inner insults down. It’s not easy to be the authority and the rebel at the same time.
