Dietary Supplement Curcumin May Actually Fight Off Cognitive Decline

brain buidlingCognitive decline is something that many of us worry about, whether it’s due to genetics and dealing with family members who have suffered, or because we have been impacted by someone else dealing with it.

But according to some new research, the answer may lie in curcumin, a dietary supplement that is already renowned for so many health benefits.

According to an article titled “Turmeric: Doctors Say This Spice Is a Brain Health Breakthrough” by Joshua Corn, Editor-in-Chief of the Live in the Now Natural Health Newsletter, “A landmark clinical trial involving people with cognitive decline measured the effects of curcumin on the brain. Amazingly, the participants taking curcumin had significantly higher levels of dissolved abnormal proteins in their blood compared to those in the placebo group.”

This means that the curcumin actually aided the brain in fighting off the abnormal proteins that lead to cognitive decline if our bodies don’t do the job, which for many of us happens to be the case as we get older.

Curcumin has a multitude of beneficial factors, one of the most substantial being that it helps our bodies fight damaging inflammation.

Inflammation is something that we often don’t realize we are suffering from until it’s too late, and we have already contracted one of the many diseases it causes. Taking curcumin supplements is a way to not only combat these problems, but prevent them from happening at all.

The article continues on to say, “Cognitive decline is something that many of us worry about, whether it’s due to genetics and dealing with family members who have suffered, or because we have been impacted by someone else dealing with it. But thanks to curcumin, we now have the power to take our future cognitive health into our own hands.
