I once called a school principal to complain loudly on the phone call. He defused me immediately by saying “I think you’re angry.”

I avoid confrontation at all costs. Not because of any of the things listed, I have a tendency to extreme anger. I get so angry I black out and do not remember what I do. I remember one of the first times, I was about 12 or so and I got in an argument with my father. He kept pushing and pushing and I got madder and madder until the next thing I remember was him on top of me taking a knife from my hand. Apparently I tried to kill him. There have been quite a few similar events over my 69 years so as David Banner used to say on the “Hulk” “Don’t make me angry, you wouldn’t like me when I am angry.” Apparently when I am pushed into a corner, I black out and do anything I can to remove that threat. That is why I try to avoid confrontation at all costs.

If I would have said ANYTHING to my very physically and mentally abusive mother, I would have been beaten to almost death. To this day, due to my extreme trauma, I avoid ANY confrontation!
