I’m a 47 year old man. Victim of multiple hardcore narcissists during childhood, adolescence and young adulthood.

Still struggling with the anger, resentment, self esteem issues etc.

One month I’m forgiving them with a zen like calm (convinced I have this thing beaten). The next I’m loathing them with every fiber of my being.

One month I’m completely understanding that they too were victims and they too suffered deeply (being incapable of emotional stability) and the next month it’s back to “how dare they put me through that abuse?!”

This has been going on for years and I’ve had little to no contact with any of them for over two decades now.

The question is: Does the pain ever truly subside? Or is this an emotional rollercoaster ride we must endure for the rest of our lives?

Sometimes the emotional pain due to this abuse is beyond description.

How does one finally beat this thing without taking two steps backward during the rough times?
