I gave up teaching myself to play chords on the keyboard with my left hand because my OH (who a) doesn’t play keyboard and b) can’t read music…..but plays bass guitar) told me I was doing it wrong every time I went near it – I told him I was learning the way that worked best for me but he was convinced that his way (which made no sense to my brain) was right. I think I’ll have another go at it!!!

      Jane,

      You GO, girl!

Hey, if you do it YOUR way, then the Narc can’t claim their teaching was what finally got this hopeless case to succeed right?

I relate to your articles so much!! You have such great observations. My mum and dad were always “helping”; more like interfering. Both very controlling even if they did mean well. It was suffocating!

I had to laugh because it bought back so many memories. Always the message that you are not capable of doing anything. These days I just let it go through to the keeper.

Thank you. It’s like they don’t think you’re capable of doing anything yourself, and heck especially if you’re a teenager and they continue to treat you like an infant.
