Projection on the National Stage

We’re all so familiar with how narcissists project their failings onto others. Nothing is ever their fault. Lately, we’ve watched projection play out on the national stage. It’s both fascinating and nauseating to watch.

Here’s an example of projection in the medical field and an example of projection in politics. (Yeah, surprise, surprise.)

Gluten or Glyphosates?

Recently, we finally figured out that my husband is gluten intolerant. Not only does gluten make his autoimmune’s flare up, but eating gluten…well, how do I put it gracefully? Ah, to paraphrase Roald Dahl, whenever Michael has eaten gluten…

Inside his tummy, something stirred.
A funny gurgling sound was heard,
And then, oh dear, from deep within,
The ghastly rumbling sounds begin!…
The floorboards shake and from the wall
Some bits of paint and plaster fall….
And there he sits and dreams of glory,
alone inside the lavatory.

Naturally, I began researching what exactly causes gluten intolerance. That topic led me to study insulin resistance, with the shocking discovery that the dark ring of skin on my neck is indicative of insulin resistance. But what causes that?

Apparently, eating one too many Big Macs washed down with a Large Coke (i.e. not eating healthily enough). The opposite side of the insulin resistance coin is hypothyroidism which often causes depression and anxiety. But what causes that!?! Having a fatty liver aka nonalcoholic cirrhosis. But what in the blue blazes causes that!?! Ah, a Big Mac and a Large Coke.

And that’s when my Bullshit Meter started screaming. The needle went into the red and stayed there. Every site I read put the blame for each and every malady directly on the sufferer. If only they’d eaten more vegetables! If only they hadn’t had that second helping of pasta. If only they’d stayed away from the Big Macs and large Cokes. Sure, fast food’s not healthy, but I hardly think an occasional burger will kill you. Having eaten fairly healthily for most of my life, I simply wasn’t buying it. And I certainly don’t need any more false guilt!

On a whim, I plugged the words “glyphosate” and “fatty liver” into Google. Bam! Eureka! There was a connection. Glyphosates are the active ingredients in the RoundUp herbicide manufactured by Monsanto and liberally applied to many of our foods while they grow and just before harvesting. Although the FDA has approved it, how can i put it? It’s toxic as hell. My friend flies a cropduster plane. He has to wear a full hazmat suit with a respirator to load the RoundUp into his plane. So why the hell would we want to eat it!?!

Next, I typed “glyphosate” and “gluten intolerance” into Google. Again, positive results. In fact, there was a fascinating story about a man who was so gluten intolerant, even one dinner roll would set off bangs and whistles in his insides. But he could wheat all day long if it was grown in Italy and not sprayed with Roundup.

I kept researching. “Glyphosate” and “obesity.” Bam! “Glyphosate” and “cancer.” Bam! Right down the line, glyphosates are tried to chronic fatigue, autism, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis. The list is endless. Glyphosates not gluten have been linked to all the nasty maladies being blamed on us and our “unhealthy” eating habits. Can you say “projection”!?!

I shudder to think of all the sick people, exhausted people, diabetic people, autoimmune people, obese people and dying people who are bearing a great burden of false guilt for supposedly “causing” their own maladies, courtesy of the medical community. It makes me furious to see doctors projecting Monsanto’s crimes onto us. It makes me livid to think ofobese people, wearing out their joints by frantically exercising, when underlying medical conditions courtesy of glyphosates is the real reason they put on and can’t shift the pounds. They’re not gluttons; they’re victims. I’m filled with rage when I follow the money trail from Monsanto to the pharmaceutical companies who are making billions off the sick and dying.

Projection, projection, frickin’ projection!

Blame It On the Russians

The recent presidential elections will go down in history as one of the most exciting and contentious elections in U.S. history. What particularly struck me is how the losing candidate and her staff flailed about, projecting the blame for their defeat onto, well, pretty much everyone…except themselves.

On election night, methinks she started to celebrate a wee bit early. But when the truth dawned that the MSM’s polls had not been correct (duh!), eyewitnesses reported that, “She screamed obscenities, punched furniture and threw things at staff.” An anonymous CNN reporter claimed to have seen her physically attack John Podesta…as if her defeat was somehow his fault. Projection #1: Podesta

Even before she lost the election, Hillary was scapegoating everyone. According to the DailyMail, she and Bill had a knock-down-drag-out fight by cell phone. A witness reported, “Bill didn’t buy the excuse that Comey would cost Hillary the election…He got so angry that he threw his phone off the roof of his penthouse apartment and toward the Arkansas River.” What no one seems to remember is that the FBI and Comey didn’t create the mess. They were only doing their job by investigating the mess that Secretary Clinton created herself, a mess that American people deserved to know about before they went to the ballot box. Projection #2: Comey

A week after her defeat, “former Clinton campaign communications director Jess McIntosh claimed it was women with ‘internalized misogyny’ who couldn’t bring themselves to vote to elect the first woman president.” Wow. Wow! My bullshit meter is in the red again. Projection #3: Women

Meanwhile, Bill Clinton was blaming his wife’s loss on “angry white men.” Sexism and racism all in one breath. Projection #4: White men.

And, as if they didn’t have enough scapegoats already, according to the same article, “But while Bill Clinton is blaming Comey and ‘angry white men,’ Hillary Clinton has recently shifted the blame to Russia.” Ah, yes. Russia! Americans have been blaming Russia for everything since Senator McCarthy destroyed Hollywood with his so-called Communist Witch Hunts of the 1950s. Projection #5: Russia.

Just to recap, so far Secretary Clinton’s loss has been projected onto Podesta, Comey, women, men and Russia. That’s pretty thorough. Let’s see. Who’s missing from that list? Oh, yes. C’mere, Hillary. Now face that mirror. Look deeply into your own eyes. No, no, no, don’t look away. I have eight words for you:

“What difference, at this point, does it make?”

Get it? Those are your words, verbatim. You said that about four dead Americans. In 2016, you played the American people for saps and found out we’re not stupid. So stop projecting. It’s not a flattering look on you.

We all know that narcissists can’t face their own guilt, their own failings, their own scandals. That’s why they project like crazy. It’s about time we stand up and say a resounding “No.” We will not take responsibility for other’s failings. We refuse to feel guilty for what they are doing to us. Whether the corruption is in our food or in our government, it’s about time that guilt and blame fall squarely on the shoulders of guilty parties…not us.
