Welcome to The Mixing Bowl

Welcome to The Mixing BowlWe live in a time where the typical family doesn’t look like any one thing. Being a step-parent is no longer a rare thing. But still many parents don’t know exactly how to deal with this kind of situation, and questions abound. For instance, when you marry someone with children, how do you deal with your relationship with that child? How do you resolve two different parenting styles?

Blended families can be successful, despite the reporting of grim divorce statistics and the outside stressors we face. This blog will offer insight on the difficulties blended families must overcome and lend practical advice to everyday situations.

That’s why I’m pleased to present The Mixing Bowl with Amy Bellows, Ph.D. Amy has had the opportunity to work in various areas, including survivors of childhood sexual assault, female offenders, chemical dependency programs and parent intervention education. You can learn more about her here.

Please give her a warm Psych Central welcome!
