I think solitude needs to be defined a bit more. Does it mean no other humans in your presence? No animals, including pets? No social media or TV/internet/phone?
    What exactly are the parameters?

I am probably in the minority since I left my job, some days I don’t need to go out at all so fairly often I do not come in contact with other humans. It truly has been a wonderful experience getting to know myself, my likes and dislikes, instead of worrying about what everyone else wants to do. I have been lucky to be able to take this time for myself.

Hey Jen, I recently retired and have had a rough time adjusting to all the unstructured time on my hands. I must admit that I miss the busyness of work and the feeling of being productive. It seems lonely. Thanks for your comment. Hobbit
