Every day it seems to become more apparent to me how deeply healing a practice of self-compassion is. During the difficult moments in life at times it seems as if we’re wired to have a neural reaction of kicking ourselves while we’re down.

    so true!! I was fortunate to take Chris Germer and Kirsten Neff’s self-compassion program at Hollyhock this past August and the practice of putting one’s hand over one’s heart truly has a nuturing, calming effect. Great article.

    Thank you. I have been struggling with stress, intense anxiety and depression for 4 yrs. I always put others before me. I shall try this.
