2 thoughts on “Finding Meaning in a Broken Glass

Last night I dreamed I had an elephant, a strong, an honourable friend that I loved dearly. After a time away, I returned home to find my beloved elephant dead. There had been a terrible accident and as I entered the garden I could see her strong; honourable; dignified body lying slumped, lifeless on the floor. All joy drained from my body, I was overtaken by guilt and regret. How had I been so careless? As my fractured mind gawked at this overwhelming sense of loss, I noticed, between the large listening ears and across the humpd ridge of the ever patient mind of my dead elephant, her skull had turned to viscously smashed glass I could see this not the cause of death but the effect thereof.
I am the elephant and my glass is smashed and it always will be, thank you for allowing me to see that my right now it is empty and is ready to receive all the wonders of life around me.

I have just broken a glass and a glass bowl within one hour and was looking for the symbolism…..This seeing the glass as already broken resonates with me. As I have been healing from a relationship my recent mantra has been, “Living, Loving and Letting go” and the recognition of this as a way to be in relationship, knowing every second we are living, loving and letting go…..the glass indeed is broken.
