2 thoughts on “Informal Mindfulness Practice: Being Present for a Few Moments at a Time

I feel comfortable with these kinds of exercises… The one I have the mos trouble with is when my kid is losing it in a public place. It puts more stress on me to handel it and be present because I’m concerned with others looking and judging me as a mom or my child. Sometimes I feel like I’m not following her cues on what she needs because I’m more concerned with teaching her the lesson that I want to learn. For instance Trick or Treating last night. She would have been happy to just walk around, however I wanted her to do the social part and say trick or treat to people she didn’t know. And typically she doesn’t care to interact with people she doesn’t know. Anyhow it this forced social thing lead to a tantrum and didn’t stop until we left the trick or treating…. Next year, I vow to let her lead in her at her comfort level….
