Depression! I have awful bouts of it! It gets really bad at times. It’s the reason Indont sleep well. I take Doxepin and Ambien. I have my own dark quiet bedroom and my mind races and with hot flashes every hour I might get 4-5 hours broke up sleep. My water class helps too. Of course my Tiels help more than anything!

Oh boy – yes, I am quite familiar with Ambien….and with hot flashes (horrid horrid)! Bless you – we are so lucky to have feathers to help ease the things our minds and bodies put us through….

    Hi Shannon,
It does seem to me that my mind can more easily focus on the negative stuff rather than positive. I wonder if it is a survivor type thing? I mean, many years ago being watchful for threats to our survival may have been negative but hey, it kept people from being eaten by dinosaurs I suppose. And THAT would DEFINITELY be a negative LOL!
See how I did that? I turned a negative into a positive because no one of importance to me has gotten eaten by dinosaurs so we must have done something right!

I think you might be right! I often suspect my mind of trying to “protect” me (and itself) by regularly scaring me to death. Which is effective it seems….I’m still here….but there is also something to be said for quality of life. 😉
