I love your story. It reminded me of the 3 Tiels I had years ago. They were not tame at all. My Latino Bobby came from a pet store in Indy. He sang really well. He would whip his body around his round cage like a little windshield wiper, then he would jack hammer his beak on the bar. He lived with me 11 yrs. Then I had Woody the normal gray. He was really wild. I would let him fly all day long. He later married my tame white Dixie Sugarbakker. True love. Then there was Billy. I would say “ that’s that old Billy “ and he would scream and squeal with delight. Billy and Woody lived with me 22 yrs. they are all buried at my local historic park. Then I lost my Sissy Bar when she flew out the front door. I still look for her when I walk. I cry to this day over her. That same week I lost my Sunny Rae from kidney and liver disease. I’ve lost 9 birds and I still have loads of love for my Charlie, Daisy, Lacey, and Trix. Love is endless I think!

I think so too! What amazes me the most is how each time we have a loss we think “oh never again” or “I’ll never love like that again” (or at least I do) and then our heart expands even more. It is true I think that I’ll never love a tiel like I loved my Jacob or my Perky, but the love I feel for Pearl is vast and deep at a level I don’t think I was even capable of before he came along. Thank goodness for love! And feathers! <3
