    Hi Shannon,
I sure could use some enlightenment myself these past several days. I have been having a hard time with depression and intense anxiety–and it didn’t help matters that the lady who had the cockatiels ended up giving them to a friend who she’d offered them to first and the person initially said no but then changed her mind.
I think something is being triggered emotionally or maybe just feeling bad due to a lot of stress but it scares me because it reminds me of some really dark times in the past when depression reared its ugly head!
I have contacted my therapist to request a session this week if possible. I also ended up “giving in” to the anxiety by cancelling two things I had scheduled this week and despite it easing some of the stress, I feel guilty because I should be able to get through them!
Anyway, just wanted to say hi and give you a bit of an update. Lori

Oh boy – yes, sometimes we can be sailing along and then WHAM. And who knows why? It might even be the empath within who is picking up on greater currents of pain and stress in the world around us, and those currents resonate with memories and feelings within us – and somehow it all gets amplified until we all of a sudden find ourselves huddled up into a quaking ball on the couch going WTF?! All I can say is to do your absolute utmost to release feelings of guilt (I know, much harder to do than to say!) I have those guilty feelings too….even this morning I felt another waft of them returning to see if I would be willing to let them back in now already please. Nope. No room in this inn at the moment. But it is very challenging! And if and when you are ever ready, I can also promise there is a cockatiel (or pair) somewhere who is so in need of a loving forever home and would love to be sharing yours with you! <3
