“They purge in efforts to get rid of the calories” . this statement is false and is part of the stigma. Purging feels good and is symbolic of getting rid of the overwhelming, feelings and emotions. It is a pressure valve release. They are also wrong about binging on “taboo foods”. I binge on steamed brussel sprouts and chicken! This is why I will never tell anyone about my bulimia because of the misinformation that is out there for the public to read.

This article was very interesting. I thought it was interesting and shocking that people who suffer from this disease, will eat around 3,000-5,000 calories in an hour. Since they have binged all of this food, they decide to purge in a kind of way. I enjoyed reading this article and I learned a lot.
