This article is a must read for everyone. I have shared it far and wide. I am a therapist and a recovering sex and love addict, and I believe you have captured love addiction perfectly. It matches my entire life strategy pre-recovery. Thank you for sharing the message of hope, and outlining what healthy relationships look like.

This is a very important distinction to make, especially because those hyper-exhilarating emotions only occur during the first few months of a relationship. The flame burns hot to initially fuse the two lovers together. Then, things naturally cools down and the couple settles into a more relaxed relationship based upon partnership and subtler but deeper feelings of love.

Unfortunately, there are a a lot of myths about finding “the one,” and many take this cooling down as a sign that they weren’t able to find “the one.” So, they go seeking that feeling more and more because they were unable to let themselves settle into the calmer form of romantic love.

Excellent article on a very important topic that throws so many people for a loop. 🙂
