One thought on “Dealing With Uncertainty With ADHD

I am 65 years old. I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was 40 in 1993 by a great doctor – Dr. Ratey. He saved me. In his book “Driven To Distraction” he personalized it by saying “best of luck in managing your brain!!!!!!” After reading that I knew I had selected the right person. The first time I took “ritalin” it put me almost to sleep a good sign for someone with ADHD. Anyway today, 08/10/18 – Friday a word popped into my mind “uncertainty.” The word still gives me a bit of “remember when” type feelings. My coping mechanism helped me even at 65 years old. Just by being aware of my uncertainty, I was able right away kick into the strategies I’ve learned not only through my ADHD discovery but by the help of Alcoholics Anonymous the sayings and the twelve steps of AA. I’m proud to say first I never was ever into drugs but with alcohol, I have more than 32 years without a drink! I couldn’t have done it without Dr. Ratey. If you John read this post I thank you so very much
