This came at a pivotal time in my life. I’ve recently been diagnosed with a serious mental illness and have been reading everything I can that relates to any aspect of it. This post about failure and how to look at it the right way is so very welcome. I’ll put it into practice bit by bit until it’s my go to way of thinking about failure.
    Thank you very much!

That is a beautiful article. Thank you for for sharing it.

I at some point or another in this life have suffered from ALL of the reasons we can fear failure. Being raised in a highly dysfunctional/insecure family helped perpetuate these things then suffering from spinal cord and brain injuries, without proper assistance, only added fuel to the fire.

It’s sad to realize you’ve spent your entire life suffering through this however I’m proud of myself for continuing to move forward despite it all. I’ve faced A LOT of fears over the years (understatement) and also have suffered from fear of failure.

This is a life long process of learning then applying what has been learned in a functional manner. What has become extremely obvious over the decades is highly dysfunctional families teach their children next to nothing that will follow them into adulthood and truly enhance their lives.

This is a sad thing, that I wish upon no one, however despite that it must be overcome if those of us who suffer from these fears want to be happy and truly comfortable with ourselves.

Wish me luck! I’m wishing all of you the very best of luck as well.

Thank you for posting this. I’m an unpublished writer. I’ve written 3 novels. But I do fear failure and fear of rejection. Your article was enlightening. Rejection with my writing in inevitable. I also deal with self doubt about my ability. I’m saving your article so I can read it again and start implementing and slow eliminating fear of failure from my life.

This is what’s keeping me from getting a job. My last job lasted for 2 months after taking criticism the wrong way, being criticized for being an introvert, and due to hypothyroidism, the inability to take info and keep it! But today is the day I call a local temporary agency and get an assignment. It’s that or into the street I go.
