After reading this blog I see myself and my mother in the traits. What is interesting is that my mother carries the strong domineering traits and I carry the low self esteem traits.

Reading about co-dependency reminds me of this sickness that’s taken hold in the United States, where people who have problems with human relationships have become dependent on dogs — yes, dogs! — whom they drag everyplace with them: to restaurants, shopping malls, doctor appointments, plane trips, etc. Why does the mental health establishment say so little about this? I guess it’s because psychologists would lose clients if they told them the truth and also the multi-million dollar pet industry. The amusing thing to me is that these sick folks claim they’re getting unconditional love from their dogs when the truth is they’re GIVING it to the dogs! Truly sad.

This article is helpful as I can see the traits of codependency in me, and can also see in another family members. It’s a trait I believe I’ve learned from past traumas, growing up with CEN, and a host of other issues. Thank you for the insight, and I will co Timor to work on journaling, and being aware of my own thoughts and actions, so i can recover.
