Did you Reach your 2010 Goals?

Wellness Plan 2008 2009 2010 2011

[ ] Take my meds every day

[ ] Lose 20lbs again

[ ] Get a Job

[ ] Get to bed before 3 A.M.

[ ] Go back to my support group

[ ] Tell one friend about my illness

[ ] Do not yell and scream!

[ ] Say Thank you More

[] ALWAYS FINISH WHAT I.....

Title: Long-term Goals
At the beginning of each year, I like to write down what my goals are for the year.  Before I was a blogger I did this in a notebook that I normally would lose so I never had to see how many of my goals I missed or never ever attempted.

Unfortunately, since I've been blogging I tend to write a post about my goals, and well, as you know, anything you write online stays online... FOREVER!!!

30 Million Dead In Less Than 30 Days

Tina: 30 million trees are now dead! How can I be JOLLY about that?
Title: Arbor Seasonal Depression Day
Here is a little something to keep our mental health balanced: Did you know that the United States uses between 35 and 40 million trees during the Christmas season?  If you are feeling guilty for spending too much this year, I thought I would give you something else to transfer your guilt to... The mass death of trees during December!

Recognizing If You’re STRESSED OUT!!

Recognizing Stress
Americans are STRESSED OUT!!

Many of us, young and old, are under “extreme” stress. In our household of two parents and four kids, at times the stress level gets pretty high!!

A recent article in our local paper said: “the American psychological Association conducted 1, 134 adults ages 18 or older from Aug. 3 to Aug. 27, including 100 adults who were parents of children ages 8 to 17.  In addition to the national sample, the association surveyed another 937 adult parents. The report also includes the results of another online survey from Aug. 19 to Aug 24 of 1, 136 young people ages 8 to 17. The survey found that a majority of Americans are living with “moderate” stress, which is a stress level of four to seven on a scale of one to 10.”

Thinking Outside The Box

Wife: Did you figure out our next Bipolar domicile yet?

Title: Thinking Outside The Box
Mental Illness, Bipolar, Depression and the Homeless sometime, NO... many times gohand in hand. It is extremely difficult to keep a job if we are experiencing an "episode."  How can we pay the rent when we are off in la-la-land or too depressed to even take care of our own basic hygiene and can't even get out of bed or leave the house?!

Name That Phobia – CoCoPhobia

From Wikipedia: Cocophobia: Fear of Conan O'Brien's Monologue making any sense..
Today on Facebook, I got a message from the Conan O'Brien Presents: Team Coco page:

We've got some of the most creative fans around - and we want to harness that awesome talent! Make something awesome that's Conan related, add it to our Flickr pool, and we might just use your art ON AIR! Ch-ch-check it out, buttercup!

So, I thought I would do something for this talent arts and craft show.  Hey, who knows, it might show up "On-Air."  That would be cool if it did, but I have no delusions that it will ever make the show.  It did get accepted to the Flickr Pool page.  So, that is a start.

Your Hedonistic Treadmill IS BROKE!

You say the cat broke the treadmill?
Strange all that damage being done by a cat!
Normally, cats only destroy the scale.

Is Your Hedonistic Treadmill Broke?

What Does Hedonistic (Hedonic) Treadmill Mean?
In short, it's that people with money are no happier than people without money.

Last month, I posted about how We Can Help Child & Adolescent Bipolar Foundation (CABF) Win $250,000 From Pepsi! CABF is competing for a $250,000 grant from The Pepsi Refresh Project. The winners will be decided by popular vote. In November, CABF finished in 5th place.  Unfortunately, only the top two win the grant!

They are eligible to try again this month for the voting grant.  As of this post, they are ranked #1 and will need our help to keep them there. I want to ask if you will help me keep them at #1 by voting daily!

My Daughter’s Favorite Pet Goldfish Guppy Goop Died [part 2]

This is a continuation of my last post.  You may want to read Guppy Goop Died [Part 1] first.  But to summarize, my 7 year old's pet died and we froze it in the freezer till we /she could take a photo of it and mourn her pet in her own way.

Dr. Harold Cohen, Ph.D. says in his article Children and the Death of a Pet.
"There is no best way for children to mourn their pets. They need to be given time to remember their pets. It helps to talk about the pet with friends and family. Mourning a pet has to be done in a child’s own way. After a pet has died, children may want to bury the pet, make a memorial, or have a ceremony."
This brings me to today's post... let's see we left off in the last post... I was able to find my digital and I wanted to share with you 3 photos that almost made me cry!!  Without any help from me or Mom, my big girl took photos and said good bye to her favorite Goldfish, Guppy Goop, in a ceremony fit for a king.

My Daughters Favorite Pet Goldfish Guppy Goop Died [part 1]

My 7 year old daughter's favorite pet Goldfish, Guppy Goop, died last week!  It was an emotional day for her while I did my "best" to try to keep the little guy alive.  I feel so bad because it was my fault.

I changed the water in her 6 gallon tank.  We have 12 Goldfish and 2 Filter Crabs in the tank. The staff at my local PetMart are amazed they are alive at all.  For 6 gallons they tell me it's good for 3 or 4 goldfish at most.   We've had 12 for the last 4 months, and they are getting big!  Turns out when I changed the water, I might have "inadvertently" shocked the fishes' system...We lost 4 within a half hour of the water change.  YES, I added the water conditioner and a tablet to remove other stuff.

My Precious named her Goldfish Guppy Goop after an e-book I wrote and illustrated for my kids titled,

Mid-Night Insanity

Words Of The Wisdomless: Words

If I tell you that your value as a person is priceless, but you believe that to be valueless, then what I say becomes worthless words.

So, today, and every day, we need to truly think of how we see ourselves, then tell ourselves "we are worth more then that." I'll go first: pond scum. I am more valuable than pond Your turn!
