    If things were that simple….some kinds of dementia, Frontotemporal Dementia, for example, are characterized, in part, by loss of affect. All sense and expression of emotion is gone. No smiling, no laughter, but in the behavioral form, much anger. An ability to laugh, to recognize and feel humor would be so great. But it is not to be in such cases.
    Fortunate are those who do not lose that. Loss of smiling and humor is a very great loss. So, for those who are helped by humor–enjoy.
