Specific Phobia: Fear of Balloons Helpful…

My Worst Balloon Fear Comes True

Love, it’s a powerful thing!  Mix that with the fear of telling my wife-to-be that I hate, with a passion, the thing she loves (sorta) more than flowers…BALLOONS.  Up till now, I’ve avoided balloon; time was up.

Notice the eyes in this picture of me blowing up balloons for my pre-wedding party (Engagement Party).  My future wife did not even know my fear then and there was no way I was going to tell her!!

Joan wanted our wedding reception hall to be filled with festive balloon decorations: balloon arches, balloon columns, balloon flowers, balloon string of pearls, and hundreds of loose balloons on the floor of all different sizes.

I forced myself to deal with the negative feelings and fear the balloons triggered.  It was the first time in my life I had the positive effect of LOVE fight back.

But If I was going to have balloons at the wedding, I better get a handle on this and it started, for me, with getting over the popping.
